Massage therapy is a type of soft tissue manipulation that includes rubbing, kneading, pressing, tapping and vibration on the muscles, using the massage therapist’s hands, to promote well-being. Some of the benefits include, increased blood and lymph circulation, increased range of motion, stimulate weak muscles, positively affect the central nervous system, reduce aches and pains, prevent or delay muscle atrophy and contracture due to inactivity and muscle tightness, and reduce stress. Massage therapy has shown to be beneficial in the treatment of many ailments and injuries. Massage has also shown positive effects in people with disabilities, improving physical, social, cognitive, and emotional aspects of their lives. Massage therapy can have positive implications for future management of certain disabilities.

 

WHO PROVIDES MASSAGE THERAPY SERVICES?

Massage Therapy services are provided by Licensed Massage Therapists, who also hold certifications in CPR/First Aid.

Massage Therapy services are provided within a comfortable home-based setting for our clients with disabilities and special needs.
